Judaism is a monotheistic religion that was founded in Israel by Abraham in c. 1,800 BCE.  It is a religious philosophy based on the Tanakh (the Hebrew Bible) that defines the way of life of the Jewish people.

Deities:   Supernatural agents:   Beliefs:   Traditions:
  • God (supreme being and creator deity)
  • Moses
  • Balaam (a diviner)
  • God created the universe, and the Earth, on Monday, October 7, 3761 BCE at 22:11 IDT
  • Scripture is omnisignificant
  • A single divine will is represented by unity of scripture
  • "Jewish" is not a race
  • Yom Kippur (25 hours of attonement)

The misunderstanding that Jews qualify as a "race" was a ruling of convenience by the USA Supreme Court in the 1980s for the benefit of anti-discrimination laws.  Although legal protection clearly was the intent, many Jews find the ruling deeply offensive because, in addition to contradicting scientific logic that race is a genetic distinction, the idea implicitly adds some justification to the infamous Nazi mischaracterization of Jews being an inferior race.
