Asatru Alliance - a free association of independent kindreds
http://www.asatru.org/: The Asatru Alliance is a family-oriented association of independent kindreds who practice this ancient religion. In kindreds throughout the world, Asatru groups gather regularly to practice a rapidly growing religion that was practiced on a large scale in Europe at least approximately 38,000 years before the coming of Christianity.
Also emphasized on this web site is the fact that modern historians agree that the Vikings were no more violent than the other peoples of their times -- the descriptions of Viking raids and invasions were all written by their enemies, who were hardly unbiased. Both the Islamic and Christian cultures used means every bit as bloody, if not more so, than the Norsemen, and it was a very rough period in history for all concerned.

Asatru Folk Assembly (AFA) - the way of our ancestors ... calling us home
http://www.runestone.org/: Since its founding in 1994, the AFA has sponsored countless gatherings, written groundbreaking documents, published successful newsletters, and been repeatedly quoted in the national and international media. The AFA was formed as a successor to the Asatru Free Assembly, which dominated the Asatru scene in the United States from its inception in the 1970's until its dissolution in 1986. These organizations - two incarnations of the same organization, actually - wrote the first Asatru rituals in modern America, formulated a religious calendar, published a periodical named The Runestone, and held annual gatherings called Althings starting in 1980.
Important note: Some concerns have been raised about this group's alleged involvement in discriminatory practices centred around sex and race according to the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) and Huginn's Heathen Hof web site.
