Glossary - Infinite regression Infinite regression, which is easily demonstrated by looking into two mirrors facing each other directly, or by viewing a projection that is a projection of itself projecting itself (e.g., a video screen that displays an image of itself acquired from the live output from a video camera), is the classification of a chain of causality wherein each cause is supported by the same type of cause. One example of infinite regress is exemplified by the question "Who created the creator?" in response to the claim that a particular deity, or group of deities, created everything.
