Glossary - Community Community is commonly thought of as a small society or a small section of society where its members either share a personalized farmiliarity or have something in common (e.g., a neighbourhood community is comprised of members who live in close proximity). In larger contexts, the word "community" can identify groups of people who share a particular philosophical view or who are connected by a specific contention. Although the phrase "global community" is more exacting, it's common for the term "community" to be used loosely.
