Atheist Frontier - Questioning what's Real

Glossary - Infidel

An infidel is a person who believes in a different religion, is anti-theistic because they oppose religion, or is an atheist due to the absence of belief in deities.  Certain popular religious doctrines promote the murder of infidels, sometimes in a painful manner such as by stoning or other brutally violent methods.

A negative connotation is typically assumed with the word "infidel" because it is often depicted as a form of evil.  This is entirely dependent on context, however, because for followers who know that their religions are evil could validly use this term to refer to those who are not.

And if they turn away, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them; and take no friend nor helper from among them;"
